Press Release: Bowie County Judge candidate Jeff Akin has been endorsed by several conservative leaders in the state of Texas, including two people who worked for President Ronald Reagan and a former Texas GOP State Chairman. Akin said “I am humbled and honored by these endorsements”. He went on to say, “we must make sure we elect true conservatives to office and not those who just lay claim to the title”. Akin’s opponent in the March 4 Republican Primary, James Carlow, served as county judge for 24 years as a Democrat.

Tom Pauken – Former Commissioner Representing Employers for the Texas Workforce Commission TWC), former Chairman of the Governor’s Task Force on Appraisal Reform, served in the White House Counsel’s Office under President Reagan, and was appointed by the President to serve as Director of ACTION, where he founded the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program.
