Jeff Akin Receives Endorsements from Several Texas Conservative Leaders

Jeff AkinPress Release: Bowie County Judge candidate Jeff Akin has been endorsed by several conservative leaders in the state of Texas, including two people who worked for President Ronald Reagan and a former Texas GOP State Chairman.  Akin said “I am humbled and honored by these endorsements”.  He went on to say, “we must make sure we elect true conservatives to office and not those who just lay claim to the title”.  Akin’s opponent in the March 4 Republican Primary, James Carlow, served as county judge for 24 years as a Democrat.


Cathie Adams – Former Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas and President of the Texas Eagle Forum

Tom Pauken – Former Commissioner Representing Employers for the Texas Workforce Commission TWC), former Chairman of the Governor’s Task Force on Appraisal Reform, served in the White House Counsel’s Office under President Reagan, and was appointed by the President to serve as Director of ACTION, where he founded the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program. ACTION is now known as AmeriCorps.

Peggy Venable – Texas Director for Americans for Prosperity, former White House liaison to the Department of Education and the Department of the Interior for President Reagan, board member of the Reagan Conservative Society, worked at the Republican National Committee, and Directed the 1984 Republican National Convention.

Dr. Keith Rothra – pastor, college professor, and Chairman of the Gregg County Republican Party

Michelle Smith – State Director for Concerned Women For America (Texas) and former member of the Rockwall City Council.

Alice Linahan – CEO and Founder of Voices Empower and board member of Women on the Wall.

Steve Findley – Former Texas State Republican Executive Committee member.
