Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Wednesday 3AM – Noon

Freezing RainThe National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain, which is in effect from 3AM
to noon Wednesday.

Counties include Sevier, Howard, Little River, Mccurtain, Red River, Bowie, Franklin, Titus, Morris, and Cass.

Cities include De Queen, Nashville, Ashdown, Idabel, Clarksville, Texarkana, Mt. Vernon, Mt. Pleasant, Daingerfield, and Atlanta.

Precipitation falling through a freezing airmass will allow for freezing rain conditions across portions of SE Oklahoma, SW Arkansas and NE Texas overnight, with light accumulations possible.

Freezing rain may be possible from shortly before daybreak to around mid-morning.

Up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation will be possible, with accumulations on elevated objects such as bridges, roads, overpasses, trees and power lines.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
