Press Release: At the end of the Bowie County Commissioners Court session this morning, Precinct 4 Commissioner Pat McCoy submitted to me his resignation letter to be effective at 11:59 pm April 14, 2014. Commissioner McCoy was an active participant in Bowie County government serving on numerous boards and providing leadership for a number of important projects. His service to the citizens of Bowie County will be missed.

Texas statutes assign to the County Judge the appointment of his successor. The successor serves until the next general election. Since Mike Carter was the voter’s choice to serve the next four year term beginning January 1, 2015, Mr. Carter is my choice to finish out Commissioner McCoy’s current term.
