Sci-Port and Dragons: Genoa Elementary Third Graders On The Road!

Sci-Port_Discovery_Center2The third grade classes of Genoa Elementary took to the roads Tuesday for a trip to Sci-Port in Shreveport, Louisiana. A line of twelve to thirteen cars with parents and supporters following backed the bus caravan for the trip.

Upon arrival the classes were divided among parent volunteers and everyone made preparations to explore the displays. A sea of green Genoa Dragons spread across the building within minutes. In addition to the hands-on activities, students were also treated to a planetarium show and hands on event to make a glue-like paste. Lunch was held in front of Sci-Port with parents, teachers and children interacting and enjoying the day.

By the end of the day two things were made clear. First, Sci-Port is a great place to take your family in the Ark-La-Tex area for some fun in a safe environment. The second thing clear is that Genoa Schools not only have a great set of students and staff, but they also have the outstanding support of parents and community members.
