Verified – Lacy and Crabbe Have Enough Petition Signatures for November Election

Bowie County TexasThis afternoon at the Bowie County Courthouse, Judge Sterling Lacy held a press conference regarding his and Barry Crabbe’s petitions as independent candidates.

Today I have received from the Bowie County Elections Administrator, Mr. George Stegall, verification of Independent Candidate’s Petition Signatures for Sterling E. Lacy and Harlan Barry Crabbe.

I am seeking reelection as Bowie County Judge.

Barry Crabbe is running for election for Bowie County Treasurer.

Under Texas Law the Elections Administrator is assigned the task of verifying 500 signatures on the petitions submitted by each person seeking to be on the general election ballot in November as an independent candidate. So there would be no quibbling over whether the 500 signature requirement had been fully met, Mr. Stegall and his staff verified over 550 signatures for each candidate.

Attached are Stegall’s certifications for Lacy and Crabbe (PDFs).
