Press Release: Kathie Glass, Libertarian for Texas Governor, is fighting back after Greg Abbott insisted she be excluded from the gubernatorial debate in Edinburg on Friday, September 19. The Campaign will hold protests/press conferences in Austin, San Antonio, and Edinburg onFriday, September 19 and will run ads on all stations airing the debate during or right after the debate.
“Once again, Greg Abbott opts for appearance over substance. He only wants pretend to have a debate, Kathie Glass said. “This debate was initiated by Abbott and he set the terms, which included timing it on a Friday night during football season in Texas and excluding me from the debate,” she continued.
The Texas governor can do what Texans want – resist federal tyranny, secure the border, and resist cronyism – but Kathie Glass is the only candidate who will.
“Excluding me eliminates the only candidate who even speak about – much less deliver on – critical issues,” Glass said. “Greg Abbott says ‘even the future is bigger in Texas’. Texas’ future under an Abbott administration would include Texas-size problems of NSA spying, cronyism, property taxes, educational dysfunction (a la C-Scope), border crisis and unaccompanied children, and DEBT, ” Glass said. “Texas has the second highest per capita debt in the nation but you won’t hear Greg Abbott talk about that.”
The debate is only being run on English speaking stations in Austin, San Antonio, Amarillo, Beaumont, and the Rio Grande Valley. Three Telemundo stations – in Houston, San Antonio, and the Rio Grande Valley – will run the debate live. The Dallas Telemundo will re-broadcast the debate on Sunday.
The Kathie Glass Campaign will be holding three press conferences / protest rallies onFriday, Sep. 19 as follows:
Austin – 9:00 a.m. – Southpark Meadows in front of Cinemark off Old San Antonio Rd
9300 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin
San Antonio – 11:30 a.m. – Rolling Oaks Mall southeast parking lot
6909 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio
Edinburg – 5:00 p.m. Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance
118 Paseo del Prado Ave., Edinburg
Kathie Glass will be at each press conference in her tour bus that she is using in her Texas 254 County Tour in which Glass vows to visit all 254 Texas counties during the campaign. The Kathie Glass Campaign has already visited 179 counties, putting the Campaign in good position to reach all 254 counties by election day.
