Nettie Marie Ferrell Knight, age 98, of Pittsburg, passed away at her home Saturday, December 26. Neitie was born July 25, 1917 in Gastonia, Texas to Harrison and Jessie Jewell Grimes Ferrell. She married Guy Buster Knight on December 24, 1938. During their marriage of almost 59 years, they would live, love and laugh and raise three children: Guy, Robert Wayne, and Carolyn.
Nettie was a devoted wife and mother, and later grand mother. She loved spending time with her family, and also enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. She kept her mind sharp with nearly constant cross-word puzzles, and could always be found with a dictionary near by to give her an extra edge.
Mrs. Knight is survived by her daughter: Carolyn Weeks; two sons: Guy Robert Knight and Raymond Wayne Knight; three grandchildren: Cesar Heredia, Wayne Swearengin, and Kristy Jurik and husband Mark; two grandsons: Ethan and Ryan Jurik; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harrison and Jessie Jewell Grimes Ferrell; her beloved husband: Guy Buster Knight; three brothers: Johnny “Buddy” Ferrell, Roy Ferrell, and Jesse Foster Ferrell; a sister: Vivian Evelyn Hamilton; and a son-in-law: Tommy M. Weeks, Sr.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thusday, December 31 at Erman Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 30 at the funeral home.
