Early voting is already underway in Miller County, and I wanted to take a moment of your time to introduce myself. My name is Shirley Easly Austin. I currently serve as a member of the Fouke City Council. I am now running for reelection for that position.
I am a retired nurse, and I attended Genoa High School. I was blessed to be able to raise my children in Fouke. My life has been dedicated to public service, and now that I am retired, I would like to continue to use my energy serving the citizens of Fouke.
I plan to focus on the progress and growth of Fouke has already seen. During my time on the council, I have worked to help our city. I have personally been out on our streets picking up trash and looking to see where we can make improvements. During my next term, I would specifically like to form a committee to help the elderly in our community in several areas of need. There are several wonderful people working in our community and doing small task daily to improve our quality of life. Our community can come together to help with yards and other necessities as needed so that we continue to be a positive city and a choice city for families, and retired citizens alike.
After I raised my children in Fouke, they chose Fouke as a place to raise their children. They made this life decision because of the outstanding community and the people living here. Fouke is my home. It is where I live and serve. I care about the citizens of Fouke, and I humbly ask for your support and vote on November 3, and during this early vote period.
