County Committee Named “Best Overall County” in Arkansas

Miller County, AR: On Saturday December 5, the Republican Party of Arkansas held a statewide meeting and named the Miller County Republican Committee (MCRC) the “Best Overall County” in the state for 2020. There are seventy-two counties in the state of Arkansas with operating Republican committees. Currently all the state Constitutional offices are held by Republicans as well as all Congressional offices. The party also enjoys a majority at the capital in both the Arkansas House and Arkansas Senate.

The Miller County Republican Committee was recognized as “Best Overall County” for work to help elect Republican candidates on a county, state and national level. In 2020 the committee provided donations to several state candidates while operating a headquarters during the election cycle in Texarkana. The county also has twenty-seven Republicans elected to office representing the county and state level officials.

According to MCRC Chair Diana Lowe, the honor and award goes to all members of the committee, volunteers, and friends in the community. She noted that several factors contributed to the success of the county. Some of these factors included guest speakers from the state, national, and local levels throughout the year. Lowe also noted that a successful Lincoln Day Dinner with Governor Asa Hutchinson and a successful headquarters operations from August through November which contributed to the committee’s success.

The committee has also supported a new county organization, the Miller County Republican Women ,as well as reached out to support the Arkansas High School Young Republicans organization. The committee is also home to the Fourth District Chair Sharon Wright and home to two delegates to the Republican National Convention, Sharon Wright and Miller County Judge Cathy Hardin Harrison.
