Texarkana Arkansas City Clean Up Planned for Saturday

Texarkana Arkansas will host a city-wide clean up on October 23

Texarkana, AR: The City of Texarkana Arkansas and the Texarkana Arkansas City Beautiful Commission will host a city-wide clean up from 9 am to noon on Saturday, October 23. Volunteers for the clean up can meet at Bobby Ferguson Park near the small pavilion on the Fairgrounds side of the park at 9 am. Teams will spread out in different directions and to targeted areas around the city. Your team may have an area in mind and that’s great, but if you need an area, City Beautiful members will be on-site to assist you in finding the perfect location to clean. Supplies will be provided – all you need is your willingness to make your city beautiful.

In addition to the clean up crews, there will be dumpsters provided. Large dumpsters will be located at Bobby Ferguson Park, Bramble Park, Iron Mountain Neighborhood Center, and the Sandflat Neighborhood Center. Anyone from the community may drop off items for the dumpsters. The following items can not be accepted: Tires/Wheels, Automobile parts and batteries, dead animals – including fish, appliances with refrigerant in them, building materials which includes shingles, concrete, bricks, rock, dirt, paint and paint cans, and electronics. If you have an item not in this list- maybe an old chair, couch, etc., now is your chance to drop it off and have it hauled away for free.

After the clean up, Volunteers will be treated to cook out at the Recreational Center (old Boy’s and Girl’s Club) located at #1 Legion Drive near the Animal Shelter. Only those who volunteer may attend this event where there will be door prizes, drawings and great food provided by several sponsors from the Texarkana area to show appreciation to those willing to step up and get out to clean up Texarkana Arkansas.
