Former U Of A Hope/Texarkana Staff Named Vice President at Cottey College

T.J. Tubbs of Texarkana, Arkansas has been named Vice President of Finance and Administration at Cottey College. Tubbs served the University of Arkansas at Hope/Texarkana as Physical Plant Director prior to accepting a position with Cottey College. He has a Master of Science in Operation Management and is working toward a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. Tubbs will assume the duties of the Vice President on June the first. Governor Hutchinson Announces 2016 Computer Science Tour of Arkansas Schools

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson today announced that he will be traveling to several Arkansas schools throughout August and September to promote computer science among students and school districts. Schools, dates and times are listed below. Governor Hutchinson issued the following statement:

“I look forward to visiting schools across the state to continue promoting my computer science initiative in Arkansas. It’s always encouraging to meet students who are excited to learn how to code, and it’s important that we maintain the momentum of this movement and continue to build awareness of the exciting opportunities in STEM and computer science fields. “The upcoming weeks will provide a great opportunity to speak directly to our students about the benefits of taking computer science courses and let them know that there’s still time to sign up for a coding class this fall.
